Hi!

I know it's been a while since you've heard from me, that's because we've had a fun and busy Christmas season! We had a scare in December that put all 5 of us in the hospital due to Carbon Monoxide poisoning. But all of us recovered fully and quickly thanks to great doctors and God's blessings. We got to travel to see family and celebrate Christmas and New Years! The picture on the right is my parents, siblings and our families last month and below is my 1 year old Jimmy opening his board book Christmas morning. I hope you are feeling as blessed as I do right now!

Since its been so long since some of us have been able to connect I wanted to let you know some of the things that I am up to to stay in touch and help you work on your projects this year. I have created a Facebook page, this business blog, and a twitter account to keep you posted on new sales, project ideas and events. Please join me! One of those events are the "Digital Scrapbooking" and "Storybook your Heritage" classes I am teaching at four NPC college campuses Spring semester in North Eastern Arizona. The classes are once a month from 6-10pm in Show Low (1st Wednesday), Holbrook (1st Thursday), Winslow (2nd Wednesday) and Taylor (3rd Wednesday). Family game night!

This week it seems like we have been playing games every night! We've really enjoyed having every one together, laughing and snacking. I had no idea that my 1 year old son would jump in there and play with us so well. These are our 2 favorites:

Name Blocks

So I'm not that crafty. I'm related to crafty people, I like to be creative, but Yeah I'm not crafty, So I've been worried about this day. Its been months in the making but I talked myself into buying Mod Podge. I told everybody all the cool things Mod Podge could do, and now, months later. I did it. And it was FUN! I made name blocks for Christmas gifts, and people LIKE it! I'm so happy, look what I did. So I have been studying this Mod Podge thing for a while and I think I have it now. Here are the steps to do what I did:

I went to www.sharingheritage.com and logged in (if you haven't done this yet do it! You'll be glad you did!) I went to the Template Gallery and found "brielle name blocks" template
Click details
Click get this template
Click Edit
change the letters and paper colors so it looks how ever you want it to I put 2 names on the page. Email me (shari@sharingheritage.com) if you have any questions with this part, I love helping in studio! Hit publish and pay for shipping.


Then I talked my husband into making blocks and painting them white (he just got a sander that week so I didn't ask for that, isn't he wonderful!)

I cut out the letters, matched them up trim them to size, if necessary, pause to take pictures just like any good blogger
I had an extra block and a scrap of paper so I did a test run: Mod Podge, paper, Mod Podge, let it dry. Oops big bubble in the middle and corner turned up, go get scraper for the next one. Ok this is for real, Mod Podge, paper, scrape gently, pose for camera, wait.
One more layer of Mod Podge on the top, concentrating on the edges, pose for camera, wait.
